Corporate Cup - presented by
The Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness & Sport
The Corporate Cup is an annual event between local businesses that promotes wellness, good sportsmanship as well as an evening of business rivalries coming together for a night of fun. Corporate Cup came to fruition as the Mayors Council on Physical Fitness and Sport, started brainstorming how to get business active and considering a healthier lifestyle. With the support of our two sponsors, the Aberdeen Family YMCA and Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Corporate Cup began in 1999 involving 8 teams and 120 people. Last year 24 teams competed and over 600 people participated in this great community event.
This evening consists of 5 core events: basketball, volleyball, swimming, track, and the Mayors Race. There are also events specifically for CEO’s, so that they can take part in this evening and show their support to their employees. So that we can get as many people involved in this wellness event as possible, there is also a blood drive and 2 participation events that any employee can take part in. These events can earn extra points towards your teams total and really help get your entire corporation to rally around this event.
The Blood Drive portion of Corporate Cup begins in January with the main evening of events in April.
