The goal of the School Age Program is to support the Y’s mission of building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities by offering a unique after school program. The program helps to build children physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially, while offering a safe, positive, and enriching experiences for all youth. The program offers a variety of activities specifically planned to supplement what the children are learning in their school day and to build self-confidence. Homework assistance is provided daily as well as an after school snack. Lunch is included on school-out days with the No School Day Package.

Summer School Age (Uproar and Safari)

Children entering Kindergarten – 6th grade

We have two separate summer programs that are designed to fit the needs of specific age groups all while keeping the children busy and engaged in meaningful activities.

SUMMER SAFARI

This is a program designed for children entering kindergarten in the fall. Children in this program are ready to have a great summer adventure yet still need to be in a planned, supervised program. This program is designed to let children feel that they are no longer attending childcare, but instead beginning their adventure into the world of “big kids.” Many outings to local attractions await children in this program. Children in Summer Safari will end their days exhausted from the fun they’ve encountered each day! There is a limit of 40 children in this program each summer!

Snacks are provided twice a day with hot lunches served daily!

Recommended daily items needed:

  • Backpacks

  •  Hats

  •  SMILES

  • Sunglasses

  • Swimsuits

SUMMER UPROAR

This is a program designed for children entering 1st through 6th grade in the fall. Our summers are planned through themed weeks with activities ranging from sports, crafts, field trips, Y activities, and SO much more. We promote the YMCA core values of Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Honesty and award children for displaying these values daily!

Children in this program have opportunities daily to:

  • Emphasize fun

  • Grow in spirit, mind, and body

  • Increase Confidence

  • Learn through play

  • Physical learning and social development

  • Strengthen friendships
